Removal of hyperlink in SMS/ Email Notification
Please note that Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad will not be sending any message with hyperlink via SMS or email to our customers with immediate effect. This is part of the bank's security measures taken to protect our customers from phishing scams.
Customers are advised not to click on any message with hyperlink requesting for customers' personal details which includes their internet banking credentials.
How to protect yourself?
- Be wary of fraudulent emails or SMS claiming to be genuine sender which contain hyperlink as part of the content.
- If the suspicious message appears to come from a person you know, contact the person via other means to confirm before you access to the hyperlink/ attachment.
- Never disclose your password, user ID and other internet banking credentials through unknown hyperlink. Contact Bank of China immediately if you suspect your credential has been leaked.
