Anti-Bribery and Corruption Statement

Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad (“the Bank”), as a responsible participant in the global financial services industry, is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethics and legal compliance in all its business operations. As a regulated financial institution in Malaysia, the Bank diligently ensures full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations within the jurisdictions where it operates.

The Bank adopts a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any form of bribery or corruption across all its dealings and business activities. It is explicitly expected that no individual or party conducting business on behalf of, or representing the Bank, shall, in any manner, offer or accept a bribe for any reason (or consideration) whatsoever. Consequently, any employee, including full-time, part-time and contractual staff, who breaches the Bank’s anti-bribery and corruption policies shall be subject to disciplinary measures, including dismissal and other actions deemed appropriate by the Bank.

The Bank is fully committed to safeguarding employees who refuse to pay bribes or engage in corrupt activities. Such employees will not be penalised for their refusal, even if it results in the loss of business opportunities.

Furthermore, the Bank maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards bribery and corruption in its dealings with external parties, including but not limited to clients, customers, vendors, service providers, and suppliers. The Bank reserves the right to terminate or cease future business relationships with any entity found to have violated its policies.

The Bank is dedicated to expanding its business responsibly, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions it serves. We encourage all stakeholders to support our commitment to ethical, fair and transparent business practices in accordance with local Anti-Bribery and Corruption laws. 

REPORTING CHANNEL

The Bank provides a secure and accessible channel for all employees, directors, shareholders, customers, consultants, vendors, contractors, agencies, and any parties engaged in a business relationship with the Bank to whistleblow any suspected acts of bribery and/or corruption related to the Bank’s business. Whistleblowing can be conducted via the following channels:

  • Writing in to the Bank’s Head of Internal Audit at Ground, Mezzanine & 1st Floor, Plaza OSK, 25, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur; or
  • Email to whistleblowing_kl@my.bank-of-china.com 

The Bank does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, reports suspected bribery and corruption involving the Bank. All reports will be handled confidentially, and the whistleblower will be protected from any adverse consequences.
