ESG Investing is a term that is often used synonymously with sustainable investing. The practices of ESG investing began in the 1960s and was known as Social Responsible Investing (SRI).

Today, ESG investing has grown relatively important to retail and institutional investors. This is suggested by growing reports that investments, which integrated ESG factors tend to provide impact towards its investment. In addition, alignment to ethical considerations also represent the value or common objectives of many ESG investors.
