Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) Payment Cards Framework (PCF) - Interchange Fee Adjustment

In line with the Payment Cards Framework issued by Bank Negara Malaysia on domestic payment card transactions interchange fee (IF), Interchange Fees are as shown below, effective by 1 January 2023.

Card Type

Interchange Fee Ceiling

Domestic brand debit card

0.10% of the value of the transaction; or
RM0.37 + 0.001%
(whichever is lower). 

International brand debit card

0.27% of the value of the transaction; or
RM0.63 + 0.001%
(whichever is lower).

International brand prepaid card

0.39% of the value of the transaction; or
RM1.28 plus 0.001% of the value of the transaction
(whichever is lower).

Credit card

0.60% of the value of the transaction.
